Computer input and output device

Input device: The data is given to computer is called input device. A hardware component used to enter the data & instruction into the computer is called input device.

input devices are: Keyboard, mouse, microphone, webcam, trackballs, light pen, joystick, scanner

Keyboard: A keyboard is an input device, that user a set off finger sized buttons called keys to enter or manipulate data on a computer. The keyboard looks like the typewriter.

Keys in keyboard: Alphanumeric keys, control keys function keys, navigation keys, numeric keys

Mouse: A mouse is a pointing device that allows you to control the movement of the insertion point on the screen. A mouse is hand held pointing device that detects two dimensional motion relative to a surface, which provides traction for the rolling ball inside the device.

A mouse usually has two buttons: a primary button(left button) and secondary button(right button) & scrollbar.

Microphone: It is define as used to convert sound waves into electric wave or input the audio into the computer.

Webcam: It define as any camera that connect to computer is called webcam. It is combination of web and video camera that can be used for video calls, video conferences etc.

Trackballs: Trackballs is a pointing device that work like a mouse. It has a moveable ball at the top and few buttons. its uses laptop, mobile and remold. 

Light Pen: light pen is a pointing device which is used to draw pictures & graphics on the monitor screen. It is a pen-shaped device for direct interaction with a computer through a cathode-ray tube display.

Output device: Those device which are used to produce result of data processed are called output device.

Output device are: Monitor, printer, headphones, projector, Computer speakers, GPS, Sound Card, Video Card

Monitor: A Monitor displays information in visual form, using text and graphics. The portion of the monitor that displays the information is called screen. Like a television screen, a computer screen can show still or moving picture.

There are two basic type: CRT(Cathode ray tube) , LCD( Liquid Crystal Display)

Printer: A printer transfers data from a computer onto paper. A printer is define as hardware output device that is used to generate hard copy & print any documents.

There are two main type of printer: inkjet printer and laser printer

Projector: Projector is an output device that  take image generated by computer & reproduce them by projection onto screen, wall or another surface.

 It can be connected to computer to project that output large surface such as big screen.

Speakers: Speakers are used to play sound. Speaker connected with cables it is allow you to listen to music and hear sound effects from your computer.
